**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a talented, qualified individual to join our company as a Procurement & Contracts Specialist. As part of our Procurement team, you will lead the contracts lifecycle management process, providing proactive, methodical management of various agreements with external parties and/or contracts from RFI initiation through award, compliance, subcontracting and renewal to closure. You will create and present reports to the Procurement Director and key leadership indicating specific recommendations to improve supply chain efficiency and overall profitability, as well as lead focused teams to liaise with departments during implementation.

**Nature of Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Sourcing international suppliers and products (including electronic components, plastics etc.)
- Review and negotiate all external terms and conditions with a view to minimize commercial risks to ORBCOMM.
- Responsible for contract formation, amendment, and execution, including drafting, updating, reviewing, and completing contract documents, and facilitating the approval process with support from Legal where appropriate.
- Lead contract creation and renewals, including monitoring expiring contracts, planning contract renewals, engaging external and internal stakeholders, amending.
- Negotiating price, product quality, and terms with product manufacturers in foreign countries
- Forecast future procurement needs; monitor stock levels and maintain safety stock. Expedite delivery of goods when appropriate.
- Proactively identify cost saving opportunities, lead time reductions, quality enhancements and overall improved service levels.
- Responsible for building a partnership with select vendors, as well as maintaining preferred vendor relationships to provide discount and rebate programs.
- Facilitate an open and collaborative communication with global teams that promote continuous improvement and standardized processes.
- Assist Manager in reporting on and achieving all Purchasing KPIs.
- Well organized, exceptional communication and attention to detail.
- Strong sense of urgency and desire to meet tight deadlines.

**Education And Experience**:

- 3-5 years in Sourcing/Supply Chain Management or the equivalent combination of education and experience (including procurement, forecasting, contracts and compliance)
- Effective time management and multi-tasking skills
- Advanced MS Office, including Excel and outlook
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Strong analytics and big-data management capabilities
- Experience in an international environment preferred
