This position will be part of our Printing Sector and In-Store Marketing group. The Printing Sector has over 3,500 employees and 13 state-of-the-art print plants.
The Printer Operator operates in the Crafting District Print Shop. This position will work in a fast-paced production environment to produce high-quality printed fabric banners and front lit silicone edged graphics.
This position is responsible for all set up and operation of all printing equipment. This position is also responsible for keeping machines in operating condition and informing management if there are any production or equipment issues.
Running and maintaining the range of equipment from wide format printers. We are not requiring prior experience on all equipment, but industry experience will be looked at heavily for this position.
**What you will do**:
- Knowledge in Set up and operation of due sublimation fabric printing machinery including, but not limited to: Brother GTX DTG printers, Roland VSi 540 wide format Printer/Cutter, Roland UV printer, Epson dye sublimation printer, vinyl cutter, Hotronix heat presses, etc;
- Operate, set up, run production of Wide Format printing and finishing equipment;
- Maintain and troubleshoot the printers and related equipment;
- Operates large format Dye Sublimation equipment;
- Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines at beginning of each shift;
- Printing on all presses following written instructions on the job ticket;
- Pull and organize materials for printing;
- Machine maintenance;
- Rip files for printing;
- Sets up and runs digital printing and cutting equipment while insuring best possible production speed and quality.
**What you have to offer**:
- Grade 12 education along with a minimum two (2) years Digital printing experience and familiar with all related print equipment;
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals;
- Ability to write routine forms such as time sheets, summarize run data etc.;
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally and should be familiar with the use and completion of production paperwork, production logs and other written communication devices;
- Must be able to work various shifts.
