Construction Foreman/woman

The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing the construction and restoration phases of all projects, ensuring they meet quality, productivity, cost, and schedule objectives as outlined in the project plan, estimate, and applicable building codes/industry standards. This role involves managing all sub-trades, vendors, consultants, and internal teams, while also handling hands-on construction tasks such as finishing and deficiency work. The Foreman will work closely with clients to address issues, provide technical input during planning, and ensure adherence to site safety and building codes.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Leadership & Engagement**
- Ensure all trades adhere to company health and safety policies at all times.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Management Team to ensure seamless project execution.
- Foster a leadership style that attracts, retains, and motivates a high-quality team, promoting an 'employer of choice' culture.
**Cost Efficiency & Operations**
- Supervise and perform hands-on restoration tasks across multiple job sites.
- Validate all pre-construction activities, including deductible payments, work authorizations, and building permits.
- Support the Project Office in collecting necessary information and maintaining proper documentation within timelines.
- Manage project budgets and profit margins while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Oversee site-specific safety and environmental procedures, ensuring compliance by all involved parties.
- Maintain high-quality control over all construction/restoration work.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors for optimal project completion.
- Prevent unapproved costs (time, materials, etc.) and ensure any changes are documented and approved.
- Act as the main point of contact for external parties on major projects, facilitating site meetings as needed.
- Address conflicts in construction progress with the Project Manager and client, implementing resolutions.
- Contribute to developing, documenting, and maintaining effective processes for trade activities.
- Ensure material procurement processes are followed and site inventory is properly managed.
- Perform other duties related to the Construction Foreman role as required.
**Customer Service Excellence**
- Monitor and maximize customer satisfaction throughout the construction/restoration phases.
- Ensure that individual and collective expectations are met.
- Respond to customer questions, disputes, and complaints within 24 hours.
- Ensure project milestones, timelines, and quality standards are consistently met.
**Key Requirements**
**Education**:
- Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience in construction-related environments.
**Experience/Skills**:
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience with a Journeyman Carpenter certificate.
- Experience in multiple trade disciplines is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of project management techniques in the construction and property insurance claims industries.
- Knowledge of building construction regulations in British Columbia.
- Proficient in project costing, estimating, and cost tracking.

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
