The Service Associate a member of the Environmental Services housekeeping team.

**Accountabilities**:

- Performing routine cleaning (surface disinfection, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.) of all areas of the facility including but not limited to occupied/unoccupied patient rooms, clinics, nursing stations, waiting rooms, lobbies, washrooms, offices, kitchens, operating rooms, utility rooms, corridors, morgues, equipment, and public areas in accordance with quality standards, procedures, and departmental training
- Removing and handling garbage, recycling, compost, biomedical and cytotoxic waste in accordance with procedures and legislation
- Attending staff meetings, safety huddles, education, and training as required
- Utilizing hospital approved cleaning chemicals and equipment (such as ladders, mops, vacuums and some motorized cleaning equipment) in accordance with departmental training and procedures
- Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform as required
- Performing other duties in support of the Housekeeping function and other duties as assigned and/or required by a Supervisor

**Qualifications**
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- One year housekeeping/cleaning experience, preferably in health care environment
- Ability to be standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive activities such as lifting (up to 42 lbs. or 8-16 kg), reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, walking and occasionally climbing ladders as required
- Must be able to pass a physical assessment
- Must be able to work where exposed to infection, blood/human waste, odors and work interruptions
- Ability to process information, organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work without direct supervision in team environment
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $24.39-$24.94 per hour
