**About the Role**
CASA Mental Health Classrooms are CASA’s new model for school-based mental health service. The program addresses the need for services closer to students by bridging a child’s mental health and school needs, through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. CASA Mental Health Classrooms are delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.
**The Program Supervisor will**:
- Provide clinical and service delivery support; staff oversight including program area orientation; day-to-day management and participate in performance management.
- Oversee the program referral, intake and admission processes, based on program inclusion/exclusion criteria; present ‘exceptional case’ referrals to Program Manager for final approval.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new program staff; provide EMR documentation training and monitor for adherence to documentation standards.
- Support the provision of evidence-informed practice in the program(s); support program staff to utilize a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors for the patients and their families.
- Provide clinical supervision in alignment with the governing body of specific disciplines to support staff members in achieving additional regulatory status (i.e., provisional psychologists, social workers seeking clinical status).
- Lead on staff development and training; provide in-the-moment coaching, role modeling and direction to program area staff.
- Coordinate, develop and facilitate annual program development retreats and other program development processes as directed by the Program Manager.
- Lead team meetings as assigned by the Program Manager and act as the delegate for Program Manager during vacations and extended absence.
- Support recruitment for relevant staff and participate in the interview and selection process; recommend staff dismissal with poor performance.
- Monitor and support program staff in collecting data as required; collaborate with Program Manager, Medical Lead, and Director, Interprofessional Practice and Support Services to routinely review and plan improvements to enhance program quality.
**Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work or occupational therapy or a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related discipline such as psychology, nursing or occupational therapy.
- Must be a member in good standing with their respective professional association/college.
- A minimum of five years clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Specialized training and/or experience in leadership, management or advanced clinical practice within the health discipline is necessary.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in specific clinical areas relevant to the area, such as child and adolescent mental health, complex cases or innovative therapeutic techniques, is advantageous.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to vehicle for travel between CASA Classrooms as required.
**Conditions of Employment**
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training, as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
