Resident Support Worker
Full-Time, Permanent Part-Time and Casual Positions
Shifts: Overnight, Afternoon, Day + Stat Holidays
Compensation: DOE + paid training and upgrading
St. Leonard’s Society of North Vancouver is a 14-bed community residential facility (halfway house) that provides community reintegration services and residential drug and alcohol treatment to adult men returning to the community following a period of Federal or Provincial incarceration.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Human Services and/or some University leading toward a degree.
- Ability to obtain Enhanced Reliability Clearance from the Government of Canada.
- Must possess skills in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage and work effectively with Federal/Provincial offenders.
- Knowledge of and experience in the field of Substance Abuse and/or Mental Health would be an asset.
- Ability to understand the dynamics of offender’s behaviour and assess
needs and risks.
- Skills to understand the use of authority in supervision and to intervene
effectively in crisis situations.
- The ability to demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diversity.
- Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Applications.
- Possess valid OFA level 1 First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Experience working with Indigenous people, culture, tradition, and ceremonies would be an asset.

**Salary**: $21.05-$25.89 per hour
