Full Time Housekeeper

**Job Summary**:
As a valued member of the team, the Housekeeper demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with organization’s vision and mission. Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services / Director of Support Services, the housekeeper performs general housekeeping activities within the established guidelines for health and safety, infection control and quality management. The Housekeeper is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the core values, ensure resident safety, and demonstrate customer service excellence.

**Responsibilities**:

- Receives assignment, assembles required materials and supplies, loads service cart and transports to work area;
- Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents, and follow specific procedures, work patterns and routines, performs such tasks as: (but not limited to)
- _Resident Room Cleaning as per assigned schedule_
- _Sweeping, dry/wet mopping_
- _Vacuuming and shampooing carpets, wax floor care_
- _Spot cleaning walls, windows and doors_
- _Dusting and sanitizing/disinfecting furniture, shelves, woodwork, etc._
- _Emptying wastebasket_
- _Rearranging furniture_
- Daily cleaning and disinfecting of all bathroom floors, fixtures, and walls and replenishing supplies;
- Monitor the cleanliness of privacy curtains in resident rooms and notify supervisor when they require laundering;
- Ensures privacy of residents during performance of duties;
- Prepares room for new occupant following prescribed procedures to ensure tour ready at all times;
- Participates in in-service programs arranged by the home;
- Demonstrates personal attributes and communication skills that foster customer satisfaction at all times;
- Notifies supervisor when supplies are low or equipment is malfunctioning;
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Housekeeping experience required;
- Good understanding of chemical and equipment use;
- Ability to work independently or as a team;
- Certified in Health and Safety - preferred;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required;
- Huge bonus points for any maintenance experience

**Working Conditions**:
