Purchaser/receiver

The Purchaser/Receiver is expected to perform all functions related to the proper receiving and storage of all items brought into the hotel. The Purchaser/Receiver is responsible to procure quality food, beverages, materials, equipment, supplies, and services for the hotel while minimizing costs, and to maintain the standards of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts by properly inspecting deliveries to evaluate the quality and quantity of the products prior to accepting and storing shipments.

**What You Will Do**:

- Receive all goods arriving to the hotel.
- Direct and supervise the receiving, storage, and distribution of all goods to effectively meet hotel requirements and reject deliveries with substandard products.
- Assure delivered products are checked against Operation’s purchase specifications and purchase order.
- Responsible for shipping of parcels and crates from Hotels
- Create and maintain logs for shipping and receiving
- Process daily invoices.
- Update inventory sheets with all new received products from all vendor to ensure current pricing.
- Update prices and products in Liquor Management inventory tool.
- Follow and maintain compliance and participation in all National SBHR Contracts.
- Ensure the lowest cost consistent with required quality standards on a timely basis by procuring foods, beverages, materials, services, equipment, and supplies.
- Respond to departmental issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
- Maintain temperature sheets for all fridges and freezer in area and follow up on discrepancies.
- Assist with weekly and month-end inventories. Ensure that monthly food & beverage inventories are recorded and provide Accounting with final inventories and issues.
- Perform calculations of departmental issues for month-end.
- Maintain all “Reciprofity” files by inputting invoices into system.
- Provide prompt and effective communication to immediate supervisor of any problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Duties assigned by Asst. Controller including gratuities, month end food inventories at both Hotels, Liquor Inventories at both Hotels
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company associates; foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
- Ensure SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts’ core standards and service standards are maintained and followed at all times.
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and image.
- Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Your Preferred Qualifications & Abilities**
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or storage facility.
- Use of pallet jack
- Food Safety certified
- HACCP certified.
- WHMIS certified
- Proven strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions
- Follow FIFO inventory (Frist in First out)
- Self-motivated, creative and capable of working in a team environment.

**Position Details**:

- Full-Time (occasional weekends and holidays shifts)
- **Shift Scheduling**: Must be able to arrive for early mornings for deliveries
- Walking, standing, bending, crouching or stooping.
- Frequently lifting 5 to 50 pounds, occasionally heavier lifting.
- Works outdoors and indoors; occasionally in inclement weather
