**Job Overview**

**Construction General Heavy Equipment Operator/Labourer**

**Responsibilities**:
**Heavy Equipment Operator**:

- Operate excavators (5-40 tons) safely on construction sites.
- Excavate for commercial footings.
- Trench for underground utilities (hydro, electrical, water/sewer).
- Remove and install culverts and assist with road construction.
- Work alongside a crew to install water/sewer pipes and structures as a mainline or backfill operator.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on equipment and report issues to mechanics.

**General Labourer**:

- Assist in laying pipe, grading, and other construction tasks.
- Work with hand tools (shovels, rakes, packers, lasers, etc.).
- Assist with the operation of mini excavators, skid steers, and other small equipment.
- Perform manual labour such as lifting up to 50 lbs, measuring, and site preparation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

**Requirements**:

- Heavy Equipment Operator: 5 or more years of experience operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, and backhoes.
- General Labourer: Construction experience and ability to work with tools and measurements.
- Valid G driver’s license (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work around existing utilities with care.
- Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
