POSITION: Restorative Care Aide/Restorative Aide
Ritz Lutheran Villa/ West Perth Village
Regular Part-Time
: Under the general supervision of the Restorative Care Lead and reporting to the Director of Campus Life Enrichment, this position provides individualized restorative programs which assist the residents in achieving their emotional, physical, and social potential in accordance with West Perth Village Mission, Vision, and Values statements.
REPORTS TO: Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: Restorative Aide - $20.28-23.22
Restorative Aide PSW - $23.54 - $24.12 ($26.54 -$27.12 with the provisional wage enhancement)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Post-secondary restorative care education.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years experience working in a long term care setting is an asset or demonstrated experience in program planning with the elderly/frail/disabled population
- First aid and CPR training is an asset
- GPA is an asset
- Strong computer skills and Point Click Care experience are an asset
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Good physical condition to be able to meet the working conditions listed in this job description
Abilities:
- Conducts nursing rehab programs as referred by restorative nurse lead and physiotherapist
- Assess, develop, initiate, and maintain resident’s opportunities for activation based on resident’s interest and level of capability
- Maintains residents documentation and charts as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Assess and monitors the use of therapeutic aids and devices
- Liaise with other health care professionals, residents, families
- Attends meetings and educational programs
- Participates in resident committees
- Ensure the well-being and safety of residents
- Use and storage of department equipment
- In the performance of all duties, demonstrate respect for the privacy, dignity, and individuality of the resident; adhere to home policy on confidentiality
- Perform all duties and demonstrate conduct in accordance with the policies and procedures of West Perth Village
- Other duties as assigned
