The Nursing Professional Practice & BPSO Lead is a leadership role within St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) designed to support the organization to successfully implement, evaluate, and sustain the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Best Practice Guidelines using an integrated and innovative approach, which includes the development and implementation of education strategies. This position reports to the Director of Collaborative Practice & CNE, and is a vital member of the Collaborative Practice Team.

The Nursing Professional Practice & BPSO Lead represents the nursing profession internally and externally, establishes and maintains relationships with academic institutions, promotes discussion of professional issues within the organization, works collaboratively with clinical managers and others to address profession-specific issues, and promotes interprofessional practice across the organization.

The Nursing Professional Practice & BPSO Lead is a resource to all nurses and others within SJCG on issues specific to the profession; e.g. scope and standards of practice.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience/Memberships**:

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor degree required, Masters preferred
- Membership within a nursing professional association, preferably RNAO

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice, ideally with several years experience working in an inter-professional environment
- Excellent leadership, teaching and mentorship skills
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence based clinical practice and ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated skills and experience in professional/academic writing (reports, proposals, research papers, poster presentations)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills

**CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT**
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
