KUMON is the world's largest after-school Math & Reading academic enrichment program that helps children learn Math and Reading concepts based on their ability rather than their age or grade. Since the curriculum is individualized for each child, it allows students to comprehend the new material fully before moving ahead. With emphasis on self-learning, preschool through high school students become self-reliant & gain confidence to learn new materials at their own pace.

This is a part-time position on a permanent basis. Must be able to commit to this position for at least 1 year and MUST be available to work evenings from Monday to Thursday between 4pm to 8pm. You can pick up anywhere from 4 to 16 hours per week depending on your schedule.

This Position Requires:

- Must be available to work: Mondays to Thursdays between 4pm to 8pm
- Must be able to commit for at least 1 year to this position
- Working with younger children ages 3 to 8 with patience and care
- Be able to positively motivate kids towards learning
- Must be proficient in Math and English
- Must have excellent Interpersonal and communication skills

The following are preferred but not required:

- Previous Kumon student/knowledge or familiarity with the Kumon program
- Experience working with children, especially through tutoring
- Professional level of written and verbal communication

This position expects you to:

- Greet students warmly and make sure students and parents are fulfilling their commitment to the program.
- Handle student folders - organize folders, exchange student homework efficiently
- Provide assistance/guidance to students, as needed, adhering to the Kumon Method and our center procedures
- Provide effective feedback to Instructor on each child
- Have outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Develop own knowledge of Kumon method and worksheets
- Work with up to two students at the same time (every thirty minutes) guiding them towards completing their Kumon assignments
- Praise students’ hard work and accomplishments to create a positive connection and experience with their learning
- Work with students to develop an understanding of the center routine.
- Encourage students to use proper stroke order, pencil grip, and digit size, modelling correct methods
- Communicate information to parents regarding student progress or areas that need further development

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 4 - 14 per week

**Salary**: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- No weekends
