**Summary Statement**:
The driver operates trucks safely and effectively to minimize the risk of injury or product damage. This position is responsible for the safe delivery and retrieval of goods to and from customers and suppliers, locally and across border. It requires interacting with customers and suppliers in a courteous and respectful manner. The driver must clean, maintain and secure equipment as per all relevant legislation and/or company policies and procedures.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**:None
**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Clean, inspect and monitor trucks for service as scheduled and/or required
- Ensure trucks and equipment are safe and securely stored
- Deliver and pick up products as per schedule
- Maintain records of deliveries and pickups
- Collect payment from businesses and other facilities as per schedule, ensuring payment is in full or contact management for further instruction
- Maintain contact with shipping office or Supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location
- Verify product being loaded and off-loaded through proper paperwork
- Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials
- Help shipping office when needed such as preparing BOL/ Tracking and other duties assigned by the supervisor and manager.
**Minor Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Communicate and resolve issues with internal departments as needed
**Minimum Qualifications and Skills**:
- Valid driver’s license (DZ, AZ)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklift, reach, and order picker
- Reliable and responsible, with the ability to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, speak)
- Excellent attention to detail for number and codes
- Well-groomed and wear required safety attire when visiting customer locations
**Salary**: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
