**OVERVIEW**
This role leads the development and execution of strategic communications across digital, print, media, web, and social platforms to strengthen the hospital’s brand, engagement, and reputation. It collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage content, events, media relations, staff recognition, and outreach initiatives while ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging and effective communication practices.
**ROLE**
We’re looking for a creative powerhouse who thrives on social media and possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills. If you’re a strategic storyteller who can captivate audiences and convey MAHC's voice with with our community, you’re the perfect fit for our team. As a Communication's Specialist, some of the duties you will be involved in are:
- Research and creatively write engaging content for various mediums, including memos, newsletters, press releases, blogs, and speaking notes
- Plan, coordinate, and execute social media content for the hospital’s platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), highlighting staff achievements, and ensuring content aligns with brand guidelines
- Participates in the design, production and distribution of event correspondence and promotional material
- Assists in the development of outreach engagement to increase the visibility of the organization
- Manage corporate print and digital material, including signage and brochures
- Design, produce, and distribute event correspondence and promotional materials
- Assist in outreach engagement initiatives to enhance the organization’s visibility
- Serve as the webmaster for the hospital’s corporate website, managing content creation and updates
- Participate in developing and implementing internal and external communication and engagement plans
- Works with internal partners such as both hospital foundations and hospital auxiliaries to collaborate on joint initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in the area of Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Three years related experience in an administrative role providing support to executive level staff or a setting with similar job responsibilities, preferably in a health care or not-for-profit environment
- Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with web Content Management Systems (CMS) including SharePoint
- Familiarity with AODA requirements and creating accessible documents (Word and PDF)
- Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MailChimp, and SurveyMonkey an asset
- Familiarity with digital devices (Apple/Samsung) an asset
- Adobe Design Suite experience an asset
- Well-developed Media Relations skills an asset

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
**Location**:Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
**Hours of Work**: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, however shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements.
