NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN I

Primary Site: Stratford

Regular Part-Time

: Performs duties, as required, in conjunction with the pharmacists and pharmacy leadership, for the efficient operation of the pharmacy department. Travel among sites and being part of an on-call rotation is required on a regularly scheduled basis.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Regional Pharmacy & Chemotherapy

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $35.45 to $37.61 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

- Registered with Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Diploma from a recognized College
- Please note: Pharmacy Support I (Technicians) may be hired post-graduate but pre-licensure in specific circumstances.

Abilities:

- Organized and self directed, including the ability to multitask
- Works well as a team member and with other health care professionals
- Able to work independently, with initiative and within structured guidelines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate, including the Meditech System
- Well developed pharmaceutical calculation skills and knowledge of trade/generic drug names
- Experienced aseptic technique and handling of chemotherapeutic agents
- Experienced in drug order entry
- Knowledgeable of drug distribution systems
- Experienced with drug purchasing and inventory control
- Ability to travel among sites as required
- Ability to participate in a regular on-call rotation as required
- Ability to keep up-to-date with technological advance
- In possession of a valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel among sites
