**Some of what you will do**:
An exciting opportunity to own the strategic own brand development of a multitude of categories across the business for both B2C and B2B consumers. The owner of these categories will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle process, managing and influencing multiple stakeholders to deliver quality products to consumers on time. This role will work to achieve sales and margin goals by working with Canada Category Managers across channels, Operations, Marketing Product Development groups to execute assortment, promotions, and marketing tactics. Each day will be fast paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.

**Specifically, You Will**:

- Execution of long-term category strategic plans with the goal of driving trend, sales, and margin in both our B2C and B2B markets, leveraging a compilation of sales data analysis, market data and vendor insights to create an informed overall viewpoint on the priorities and how to execute despite potential challenges.
- Work closely with store operations, B2B partners, customer service insights, and Staples US to track the consumer feedback and needs requested to appropriately tweak current products where needed and direct future efforts to enhance the consumer’s experience.
- Use relationship with Staples US and vendor community to keep in the know of all newly available opportunities we can chase and source for.
- Responsible for the people management of an Assistant Product Manager, investing in their career support and making time for their learning development opportunities.
- Will assist in the prioritization of their tasks, and supply of timely feedback and direction.
- Provide analysis inclusive of planogram photos, retail ranges, brands offered, strengths and weaknesses for direct in-store and online competitors as well as ‘North Star’ competitors.Create weekly sales downloads on current assortment and assess potential resolution requirements for lagging results.

**Some of what you need**:

- Post Secondary degree required, Business/ Communications/ Marketing/ Design preferred.
- Proficient in excel sales analysis, PowerPoint presentations.
- Illustrator and graphic design experience a bonus, an eye for design and trend is necessary.
- Proven experience as a people leader with an invested interest in development of their direct reports.
- Track record of negotiation experience with large scale vendors.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize competing tasks with mínimal supervision.Minimum 5 years’ experience in the product development and management world on home/ office goods.
