**Overview**

The Packaging Setup Operator - is primarily responsible for the setup and operation of the manual and automated bottling lines, manufacturing equipment as well as supporting the finishing operations. Duties also involve physical handling of product, materials, and supplies. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing all duties in compliance with Health-Canada, FDA, CNESST and company policies, including safety guidelines, the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

**Main Responsibilities**
- Perform packaging line change over and packaging equipment set up, start up, operation, monitoring, trouble shooting, including vision system adjustments;
- Visually inspect production and take prompt action when needed;
- Ensure all production materials are available and replenish materials as needed;
- Complete all paperwork including batch records accurately;
- Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties;
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize equipment according to procedures
- Ensure operational standard are met and action plan created if required
- Follow operational guidelines, perform routine preventive maintenance as per schedule
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous work experience as a packaging/manufacturing machine setup operator (an asset)
- Manufacturing experience in a GMP environment (an asset)
- Basic math and mechanical skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in either English or French at a level to facilitate the understanding terminology of the job. Bilingualism is an asset
- Physically able to bend, stoop and squat, stand for up to 10 hours, do repetitive work and lift up to 20kg
- Ability to handle empty pallets
- Ability to handle full pallets of finished product on a pallet jack
- Strong work ethic
- Advanced attention to detail
- Fast learner
- Proper personal hygiene
- No facial piercings, no loose jewelry
- Repair of packaging equipment. This includes problem identification, referencing technical documentation, assessment of material requirements, requisition placement, and actual repair. **Will pay extra for this skill and upgrade position to mechanic.**

**Availability**:
1st Shift (Day): 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

2nd shift (Night): 4:30 pm - 1:00 am
