Duties and Responsibilities:

- Design and develop new products based on market research such as mechanical and electrical.
- Interact with customers and potential customers to understand their needs, train their staff, and support sales.
- Bring ideas and concepts forward to be considered for study based on market needs.
- Assess costs of both new products developed and in-house production equipment.
- Provide engineering input on strategic planning process.
- Develop and implement plans to support the approved business direction.
- For new products, determine how best to manufacture and support product launch.
- Collaborate with the team on technical files, cost, scope, and schedule of projects.
- Installation and training of equipment for both internal and external users.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and support equipment in the field.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and standards within the department.
- Ensure all specifications are properly documented.
- All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

- Excellent knowledge and experience managing safety and environmental implications of designs.
- Post-secondary education in related mechanical or technical field.
- Proficient with designing in SolidWorks required.
- 4+ years relevant work experience.
- 4+ years of experience working on assembly and measurement tools within a production/field environment.
- Understanding of overseas customs requirements preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, designs, and blueprints.
- Advanced mathematical skills to calculate and understand basic equations, rates, ratios, and graphs.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
