**Some of what you will do**
As the Manager, Product Design, you will partner with the digital product team in the product discovery process and provide leadership to drive the creation of best-in-class user experiences and align UX to business outcomes.

You will lead a team of product designers and enable them to contribute to their fullest potential. You will also support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external business partners.

**Specifically, you will**:

- Champion design best practices across teams, raising the visibility of work and ensuring partnership with business partners
- Factors customer needs into team road mapping, ensuring initiatives support Staples' goals for a best-in-class customer experience
- Lead the design and delivery of UX artifacts and ensure consistency, quality, and excellence across the portfolio
- Work with UX research and analytics teams to inform decision-making and identify emerging issues and trends
- Proactively identify and drive opportunities to improve UX processes, people, and outcomes across digital properties and teams
- Proactively identify and drive cross-team strategies that operationalize best practices
- Be an expert facilitator that values diverse perspectives and opinions

**Some of what you need**
- Proven track record of successfully leading design functions across a product area
- Ability to own end-to-end design process from initial concept to final implementation
- Mastery of your craft, including strong visual & interaction design skills, prototyping, and UX best practices
- Data-driven and use quantitative as well as qualitative data sources to inform your design decisions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills
- Collaborative and creative problem-solving skills spanning multiple stakeholder groups and diverse audiences
- Lead teams and/or strategy in complex domains
- Usually 8+ years of relevant work experience, for example, as a Product Designer, UX Designer, etc.; 2+ years of them were in a people manager role.
- Requires a college or university degree in UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field
