**Overview**

Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent of Mike Geric Construction Ltd and working closely with the Project Coordinator providing multi-faceted support. Site safety is responsible to perform tasks that require physical labor, be always hands on, providing a safe & clean construction site, reflecting the Mike Geric Construction brand and image. All functions and responsibilities are performed in accordance with MGC’s values and beliefs.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist other workers in completing their tasks.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with the provincial and local regulations.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards, including WorksafeBC.
- Conduct safety training and education programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate hazards.
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records and reports for all construction projects.
- Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and policies.
- Work with the project team to develop site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure that all equipment and tools meet safety standards.
- Stay up to date on new safety regulations and industry trends.
- Clean, sweep, and prepare construction site.
- Assist in digging and trenching as required.
- Carry heavy building materials, distributing them to appropriate locations on site.
- Other tasks may be assigned as required.
- Attend to trades, employees, as required for medical attention.
- Ensure a log, and reporting system is in place to ensure all site accidents or medical attention is diarized as required under Worksafe BC

- Strong organizational skills with proven efficiency to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive work ethic
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be in good physical condition.

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma an asset but not required.
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Level 2 OHS Required
