**Catherwood Towing Ltd. is hiring Deckhands**

Some things you should know before applying.
- We prefer an in-person interview at our head office in Mission BC.
- We work on both logs and barges, so you need to be willing and able to work on both.
- You must be physically fit, have good balance, and be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and on any shift, days, nights, and weekends.
- We require you to have a reliable vehicle and clean drivers abstract.
- We dispatch our tugs from all over the Metro Vancouver region including Mission, Maple Ridge, New West, and Richmond, so you need to be able to work from all these locations.
- You must be a Canadian citizen - preference will be given to those who reside in the Metro Vancouver Region.
- Previous marine experience is beneficial, but not mandatory.
- Certificates that are beneficial include Marine Emergency Duties (MED), Bridge Watch, Forklift Operation, Level-1 First Aid, WHMIS, SVOP, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Food Safe & VHF license. You must obtain your MED Certificate within 6-months of starting with us.
- We provide most of the PPE, but you are responsible for providing your Steel toe boots, Caulk boots (for logs) and raingear.
- It can take several months to obtain full-time status with benefits. Your work ethic, attitude, & availability for work will determine how fast you progress.
- All new hires must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
