About the Affiliates Network
The purpose of the Affiliates Network program is to deepen and broaden the expertise upon which the Institute can draw. This will allow us to present the most current information and insights when addressing our stakeholders’ information needs, including those of policy makers and the media. The program will enhance the credibility of the information we share about families in Canada. It will also create opportunities for Affiliates to connect with one another through round table events, forums, and other activities.
About the position

**Responsibilities**:

- In consultation with the Executive Director and senior program staff, identifying researchers and practitioners to be invited to participate in the four affiliate working groups
- Sending invitations to prospective affiliates
- Requesting and receiving profile information of affiliates
- Entering profile information into the Affiliate Network portal of the Vanier Institute website
- Coordinating the initial meetings of each affiliate working group
- Supporting affiliate participation and intra-group communications (i.e. setting up mailing lists, discussion forums, etc.)
- Maintaining accurate records
- Other duties as assigned, appropriate to the job level

Key skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Collaborative and proactive approach and experience fostering effective working relationships
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to take initiative in finding, tracking, recording, and summarizing information
- Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook)
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision

Skills assets
- Bilingual (French/English) preferred
- Graduate student in a social science discipline related to family science, public policy, or communications preferred

Terms of employment
- Compensation: $21.00/hour for a 37.5-hour work week
- Applicants must be under 30 years of age, as this position may be funded by a Canada Summer Jobs grant
- Length of employment: 16 weeks
- Location of employment: At our office in Ottawa, but the job could be done remotely if needed
