Display Fabricator

We are a large acrylic fabrication and signage manufacturing facility beside the Toronto International Airport (Pearson). We are expanding our production facility, and we are looking for hard-working people to join our team and learn the craft of acrylic fabrication.

We are especially interested in skilled builders and fabricators from the following industries:

- Cabinetry making
- Woodworking or Metal Fabrication
- Sign manufacturing
- Acrylic Fabrication

We are focused on high quality acrylic fabrication, and digital graphics and are looking for people who want to learn and grow by becoming master fabricators in the challenging medium of clear acrylic.

Operations and Skills you will learn as you grow are:

- How to interpret technical drawings and do take-offs from architectural / Engineering drawing sets for production components
- How to accurately and precisely measure with a variety of technical measuring tools and instruments
- How to build acrylic and other plastic displays and signs of ultra-high quality
- How to build production level tooling and setups to mass produce high quality products
- Ways to cut, bend, router, drill, and solvent-weld a variety of plastic and non-plastic materials
- How to operate as part of a production team and how to troubleshoot problems on a production line
- How to be an important part of the design-build team and deliver the results our clients need
- How to run a production line as a production lead-hand

You will start your journey by working on production lines in every department and on every operation. You will master each skill in a production line environment under skilled operators and supervisors.

Then you will apprentice directly under master craftsmen who will show you the right way to build things, and the tips and tricks that decades that come from decades of experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualities:

- A thirst to learn new skills every day
- A personality that constantly needs to find the best way possible to accomplish the task
- Demonstrated skill building things with a variety of tools (Built a chair? A shelving unit? A sculpture? Show it to us)
- The ability to learn quickly, especially from your mistakes, and not get frustrated
- Enjoy solving difficult problems and finding ways to build what the designers and clients want
- High School Mathematics (Basic Numeracy, and Geometry)
- Fluently read, write, understand, and speak English (CLB level 9 or higher, if English is not native language)

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

- Building acrylic displays
- General assembly
- Understanding how to cement acrylic pieces together based upon the required specifications
- Communication skills
- Like to work with your hands

Pay: $23.00+ per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Standard work week of 41 hours per week.
- Opportunity for paid overtime during peak periods

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay (paid after 42 hours per week)

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 41 per week
