**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation, Pharmacy and Telemedicine, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) to support and enhance the services of the rehabilitation department and ensure the provision of safe, wholistic, patient centered care to our clients. The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the prevention, identification, assessment, treatment, education and rehabilitation of communication and/or swallowing disorders in children and adults in the provision of rehabilitation services to the clients of SLMHC.

**Qualifications**:

- Master of Health Science Degree, Speech-Language Pathology
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Minimum of six months experience working directly with clients in a health care facility preferred.
- Previous experience with assessment and management of swallowing disorders including video fluoroscopic studies
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, self-directed and self-starter.
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrates ability in problem-solving, decision-making and group process.
- Must have valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.

**Job Duties**:

- Provide care and services within the scope of practice, as defined by CASLPO, to inpatients, outpatients, and residents of long-term care.
- In collaboration with Diagnostic Imaging department, conduct video fluoroscopy studies.
- Participates in interdisciplinary care rounds, demonstrate effective communication in the interdisciplinary care team.
- Travel required to alternate hospital on a weekly basis; to long-term care site on as-needed basis.
- Provides ongoing support for patients, families and staff.
- Ensures that departmental materials, equipment and supplies are current, in good working order, and meet the requirements of the patient population.
- Maintains knowledge of best practice in all relevant practice areas; committed to continuous quality improvement.
- Other duties as assigned

**Salary**: $36.04-$43.94 per hour
