What you bring...
- Minimum 3 years of Painting experience, Red seal certification would be an asset but not necessary
- Proven maintenance experience
- Experience with plumbing, heating/cooling, and electrical would be an asset
- The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Experience with various painting techniques, including cutting, rolling, brushing, and spraying, is essential. This includes knowing how to create smooth, even coats and blend colors seamlessly.
- Proficient in drywall repair, mudding and taping to create smooth and seamless wall surfaces.
- Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (rollers, brushes, sprayers, caulking guns etc.)
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail
You will...
- Work extended hours during month end as necessary
- Flexible on-call hours required (including evenings and weekends)
- Make on-site preparations such as, masking, covering fixtures etc.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- Fill cracks, gouges, and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- Maintain structural integrity of building by completing minor repairs
- Perform Plumbing, Heating/Cooling, Electrical tasks
- Fix and troubleshoot appliances
- Maintain interior finishes - drywall, paint, flooring, etc. and building exterior
- Determine materials and equipment needed to complete project work
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace, including the maintenance shops and storage facilities
- Be available for questions, troubleshooting and assistance on repairs
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager
- Adhere to all health and safety precautions and policies
