The Lead, Health Policy is a vital member of the Program Design team, responsible for leading the development, planning, and implementation of evidence-based program policies in ColonCancerCheck Screening and GI Endoscopy Programs. This role supports the clinical and scientific leadership for the programs and is involved in provincial program initiatives involving colon cancer screening and endoscopy. The Lead will develop evidence-based policy, program design, and materials and support change management, implementation and program enhancements.

Here is what you will be doing:

- Monitor, collate, and synthesize information on evidence, trends, and best practices to facilitate planning and decision-making.- Develop needs assessments, jurisdictional scans, briefing notes, options analyses, and impact assessments to create program policies and guidance.- Prepare reports, briefings, policy papers, briefing/issue notes, and presentations for various audiences.- Support clinical and scientific leads and external consultants by developing materials for presentations and obtaining expert input.- Work with external vendors to develop products (e.g., modeling, evidence reviews) to inform policy development and program design.- Support internal working groups and external provincial and international expert panels and advisory committees involved in policy development, program design, and operations.- Develop and present material using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills to express complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.- Deliver excellent tactical and strategic thinking.- Approach problems proactively and recommend thorough and practical solutions to complex issues.- Provide management and stakeholders with status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on projects.- Manage multiple projects concurrently.- Promote collaboration and teamwork, working for consensus and contributing to team goals.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- An undergraduate degree (master's degree preferred) in public health, health sciences, health administration or a related field is required.- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.- Experience formulating policy and working on policy initiatives, assessing impacts and conducting environmental scans and options analyses.- Experience synthesizing scientific research.- Knowledge of frameworks for evidence review and evaluation and policy development.- Knowledge of program evaluation is an asset.- An understanding of Ontario’s health care system, experience with population and public health approaches and/or cancer screening is an asset.

Knowledge and Skills- Proven ability to lead and execute complex, high-risk projects within a cross-functional framework.- Strong problem-solving skills, delivering thorough, practical solutions to diverse and complex challenges with a proactive mindset.- Expertise in prioritizing and managing multiple projects in a cross-functional team, ensuring timely responses aligned with timelines and plans.- Comprehensive understanding of project interdependencies and ability to effectively coordinate with key stakeholders.- Exceptional writing skills, with experience crafting briefing notes, reports, and policy documents.- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations and confidently address inquiries.- Skilled at building and maintaining relationships, fostering collaboration, and achieving consensus among diverse stakeholders.- Highly detail-orient
