Intensive Counselling Service Team Lead

The Intensive Team Lead will provide supervision of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality treatment of children from birth to age eighteen and their families.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**_ Team Lead Responsibilities_**
- Working with program manager, provide supervision to members of the Intensive team, including direct and delegated supervision as per the Agency’s policy on supervision.
- Responsible for overseeing the clinical work through supervision and through established accountability mechanisms.
- Working with program manager, collabratively maintain a coherent multidisciplinary team of clinicians whose individual and collective efforts work for the benefit of the clients of the Agency.
- Support team members in order to meet administrative, clinical and educational responsibilities.
- Provide input into ongoing performance evaluations of team members, including the assessment of staff development needs.
- Participate in select community committees, as well as operational agency committees as required (i.e., accreditation, program evaluation, managers, community of practices).
- Working with the program manager to support the Intensive team and ensure that it has well defined service goals that support agency objectives.
- Working with the program manager to ensure staff are accountable for service notes and statistics.
- Model and further enhance the Agency’s cultural competencies.
- Ensure that the clinical programs meet accreditation program standards and compliant with PHIPA and other legislative guidelines.
- Advise in the recruiting, hiring and discharging of employees as necessary to support the allocation of resources needed to meet service objectives.
- Participate in ongoing training opportunities to maintain and enhance a contemporary knowledge of children’s mental health.
- Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
- Abide by the specific requirements of Section 27 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be reasonably be assigned.
**_ Clinical Responsibilities_**
- Manage the waitlist and expedite referrals to the Intensive program, liaising with ASN and assigning cases as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a small caseload as needed, providing direct individual/ family/group assessment and treatment.
- Provide support, consultation, assessment and treatment services to infants and children, 0 - 18 and their families using family, individual, parent-child, and group modalities as required.
- Provide a family centered perspective within the multidisciplinary team and to be aware of the importance of contributions from other disciplines in recognizing and treating disorders of children and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to work within the team to develop a coordinated treatment plan to meet child and family needs.
- Understanding of adult services, treatment and caregiving strategies (e.g., Emotion Focused Family Therapy).
- Liaise and advocate on behalf of the child and family to other staff members and to significant professionals and programs in the community.
- Be aware of, and provide information on, community needs to assist in planning for services and programs, both at ROCK and in the Halton community.
- Provide clinical support to administrative staff, as requested.
- Maintain documentation for cases as outlined in the case management system.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**_
Education:_**
- Minimum of Social Work degree from a recognized university.
- A Master’s in Social Work, or equivalent from a recognized university is an asset.
- Eligible for registration with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
**_ Experience:_**
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in individual, couple, family and group therapy and work with larger systems.
- Excellent clinical leadership skills gained through many years of progressively responsible practice and management experience in social services.
**_Skills:_**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaborative at all levels within the Agency, including clients and community.
- Ability to develop cohesive and well functioning staff teams.
- Excellent knowledge of statutes and regulations pertinent to children’s mental health services, particularly the Child and Family Services Act.
**_ Additional requirements:_**
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
- Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Halton Region.
- Proficient in the use of technology and in working from a virtual environment, with MAC OS operating systems experience is preferred.
