**The Opportunity**:
The Retina Clinic RPN is an integral part of the Provider Solutions Team, responsible for the coordination and delivery of services related to patient care offered by Sentrex Health Solutions. The Retina Clinic RPN is responsible for managing patient care, managing pretreatment protocols, and supporting the patient on therapy through ongoing counselling and monitoring. This individual will act as a primary point of contact to their assigned health care providers (HCP) In addition, this role involves direct interactions with patients, pharmacies, physicians, and other health care professionals (HCPs) to optimize patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
**A Day in the Life (What you will do here)**:
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients/clients, families, and other members of the health care team.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients by following standard operating procedures.
- Register patients and manage the electronic medical record.
- Performs and learns diagnostic measures including ocular health exams, field of vision testing, instillation of eye drops, use of ophthalmic medical equipment.
- Coordinate referrals by scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Ensures safe operation of all medical equipment.
- Works with clinic technology and platforms, to conduct internet searches, and perform data entry and other data into patient information systems.
- Prepares patients for treatment and assists ophthalmologist as required.
- Work with the existing team to provide full support for the patients and doctors needs.
- Performs diagnostic testing including OCT, color testing, vision and history and VF and doing preworkup on clinic patients.
- Performs administrative work including data entry, charting and paperwork and following up on diagnostic tests ordered by the physician.
- Counsels’ patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drug.
- Ensure appropriate levels of medication are maintained for treatment.
- Partner with patient support programs and insurance providers to support patient therapy.
- Other tasks or duties as may be required
**What you need to ensure you are set up for success**:
- Licensed RPN
- CPR and First-Aid certification required
- ACLS certificate preferred
- Must hold a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- Able to confidently deliver education
- Experience in a critical care, emergency, and acute care as strong asset
- Confident and experienced with using Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Able to work autonomously with little supervision, as part of a larger remote team
- Able to travel within a set geographical boundary
- Experience in Patient Support Programs is a strong asset
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry an asset
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible with patient and HCP requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Adhere to Sentrex Policies and Procedures
