Agronomy Summer Student

**About Us**:
Monette Farms is a progressive vegetable farm committed to innovative agronomy practices and sustainable agriculture. We grow a diverse range of vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic agronomy student to join our team for the summer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the planning and execution of crop monitoring programs, including soil sampling, plant tissue sampling, and pest/disease scouting
- Record and analyze field data related to crop performance and environmental conditions
- Assist with the implementation of crop protection strategies, including integrated pest management (IPM)
- Conduct research trials to evaluate the effectiveness of new farming practices or products
- Document observations and prepare reports to contribute to farm decision-making processes
- Participate in general farm activities as needed, including planting, weeding, and harvesting

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in an Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, or related program at a college or university
- Strong interest in vegetable farming and sustainable agriculture
- Basic understanding of agronomic principles, including soil health, crop physiology, and pest management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for data management and reporting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform tasks that may require lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Valid driver’s license is an asset

**Job Type**: Seasonal
