**Position Title**: IELTS Exams Invigilator

**Status**: Casual Part-Time (CPT) Contract

**Hours**:Up to 16 hours per week

**Faculty/Department**: Humber College Official IELTS Test Centre, FLAS

**Campus/Location**: North/ Lakeshore/ IGS

**Salary**: $19.50/hr

**About the Official IELTS Testing Centre at Humber**:
Humber College Official IELTS Testing Centre provides high-stakes English language proficiency tests (IELTS) at locations across Toronto. Our mission is to provide fair tests in a friendly and progressive setting. Our clients are predominantly international professionals and students, and thus it is required that all staff are committed to promoting equity, and fairness. Many of our staff are multilingual, and our goal is to have our staff reflect the diversity of our clients.

**About the Exams Invigilator Role**:
The Exams Invigilator will be accountable for maintaining the integrity and reputation of IELTS, its co-owners, and Humber College by ensuring that tests are delivered to prescribed standards for customer service, security and administration. They will also be accountable for promoting a positive image of the test centre by providing a high standard of customer care on the test day.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:

- Follow all relevant standards & procedures, based on training and reference materials provided by the British Council Examinations Services.
- Be familiar with the emergency procedures for the test day venue.
- Invigilate examinations to the standard required by the British Council Examinations Services.
- Ensure all material is accounted for and handed over securely to the supervisor.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of exam assignments. Complete all reports, logs and claims accurately.
- Follow all relevant guidelines and policies in the areas of: Data Protection, Child Protection, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Diversity, and Anti-Fraud.
- Report any incidents, emergencies or breaches of security to the appropriate test day supervisor.
- Work with the test day supervisor to promote and ensure the wellbeing of test-takers at all times. In case of emergencies, follow correct procedures.

**Education**
- The successful incumbents will have post-secondary education.

**Experience/Skills**:

- At least 1-year experience in similar role
- Experience in responding to children/young adults and parents' needs in a professional manner, to a high level of quality.
- Be able to work in a team environment with others.
- Maintain attention to detail, organized work environment and show respect and sensitivity.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedure, and standardized testing tools.
- Planning and organizing: Is methodical. Able to plan own work over short timescales for routine or familiar tasks and processes. Has a good attention to detail. Is punctual and reliable. (Essential)
Communications in English: Communicates clearly and effectively. Listens to others and expresses self clearly, with grammatical accuracy and awareness of a diverse audience in speaking and writing. (Essential)
- A valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is an asset.
