The Financial Systems Consultant provides support to the Finance division to address needs and determine how people, methods, and technology can be combined to deliver high quality results. The Consultant will need to liaise with Business Units to provide expertise in financial data and systems as it relates to processes and projects.

The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

Toronto Hydro has implemented a mandatory vaccination requirement for all its employees. Proof of full vaccination will be required upon receiving a conditional offer of employment. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborates with internal business units to meet organizational requirements with a focus on financial requirements.
- Develops and presents business cases and solutions as related to financial systems, processes, and reports.
- Elicits analyzes, and documents requirements for meeting and improving business needs.
- Recommends new financial systems and updates to management.
- Designs and implements processes, tools, and systems to validate the effectiveness of current financial procedures.
- Anticipates, understands, and responds to internal and external client needs as related to financial and operational activities.
- Represents financial interests in the success of strategic organizational projects.
- Supports finance teams with respect to financial systems, governance, compliance, and management reporting requirements.
- Liaises with Information Technology (IT) teams for upgrades and implementations to financial systems.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s/ Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related degree program.
- Five (5) years of experience with financial systems, processes, and advanced financial data management.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Experience with automation, data blending, and visualization tools such as RPA, Alteryx, and Tableau to support financial process optimization is an asset.
- General understanding of internal financial controls and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to resolve problems and achieve objectives.
- Understand ethical behavior and business practices and is consistent with organizational values and standards.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external teams to achieve goals of the organization.
- Approaches work with a “can do” attitude, works diligently to meet goals, and initiatives activities to improve individual and team performance.

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
