- **Position Summary**:Required to drive residents to scheduled events, outings etc. as needed.
**Hours of Work**: 5 shifts in a 2-week period. 4 hours per shift.
**Reports to**: Recreation Manager
**Driver's License**:Requires clean and valid driving license and in some cases willingness to acquire special class license.
**Confidentiality**: Maintains the confidentiality of information relating to residents, families, all staff, the residence’s operations, financial arrangements and results.

**Job Requirements**:

- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, creativity and high motivation.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others.
- Familiarity with community an asset.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Valid driver's license and in some cases, willingness to obtain special class license.
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Experience driving large van or bus.
- A sincere interest in the general well-being of the residents.
- Comfortable working in an institutional setting for seniors.
- Physically able to push wheelchairs and assist residents on and off the van.
- First aid training an asset.

**Duties**:

- 1. Drive residents on scheduled outings under the direction of the Recreation Manager.
- 2. Keep the van clean and in good repair.
- 3. Keep a log of all trips taken (dates times and number of residents).
- 4. Take van to required maintenance appointments as scheduled or needed.
