Vehicle Installation Technician

We are seeking individuals who love working with their hands and minds, learning new skills and taking pride in quality workmanship and a job well done. As an installation technician you’ll be responsible for outfitting a variety of customers’ vehicles ranging from light trucks and SUV’s to construction equipment.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Installation and removal of mobile electronic and low-voltage (12-24 volt) electrical equipment such as two-way radios, GPS, cell boosters, lighting and emergency warning equipment.
- General troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic repair of mobile electronic and electrical equipment.
- Mounting of equipment brackets and vehicle accessories, running and connecting low-voltage wiring.
- Layout, assembly, drilling and cutting, and basic fabrication of small metal and plastic parts.
- Working with a focus on your safety and the safety of those around you, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental program requirements.
- Accurately record time and materials and complete service order paperwork clearly
- Working effectively both as part of a team and individually

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Education, training and/or relevant experience working on vehicles and/or mobile equipment, working with electronic and low-voltage DC electrical equipment.
- An open mind with a desire to learn and develop new skills and willingness to learn about new technologies on an ongoing basis.
- Proficient in the safe and correct use of basic hand tools and handheld power tools
- Physically capable of working in a variety of positions including standing, sitting, bending, and laying on the ground, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Valid drivers license, able to safely drive full-size light vehicles in changing weather conditions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills

**Job Specifics**:

- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (8-hour days). Overtime or weekend work may be needed on an occasional basis.
- You will be based in our shop in Sparwood, BC with work primarily taking place there or at client’s facilities and worksites in the Elk Valley area. Occasional out-of-town work, typically within 2 hours drive. Travel time is paid for field work, and service vehicle is provided.
- Tools and test equipment are provided. If you prefer to use your own tools, tool coverage can be negotiated.
- Industry and worksite-specific safety training will be provided.

**Salary**: $26-32 per hour, negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Opportunity for wage adjustment based on demonstrated skill.
