**Job Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Inventory Management & Vendor Relations**
- Manage inventory levels across all product lines, ensuring weekly counts and timely reordering.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with product representatives and vendors (including Maritime Beauty), acting on behalf of management to negotiate deals, promotions, and returns.
- Handle product ordering, receiving, and reconciliations using STX software (create purchase orders, receive shipments, and confirm accuracy).
- Oversee merchandising efforts to ensure salon retail displays align with promotional campaigns and the Thumpers brand.
**2. Event Planning & Execution**
- Take ownership of planning, organizing, and executing salon events and promotions, from conceptualization to dismantling.
- Attend all events, ensuring a high standard of execution, and offer constructive feedback to improve future events.
- Actively engage in building the Thumpers brand by contributing ideas for new events and promotional opportunities.
**3. Brand Advocacy & Professionalism**
- Ensure all correspondence with vendors, clients, and team members reflects Thumpers' brand values—professional, kind, and courteous.
- Always communicate with a smile, both in person and in writing, ensuring a friendly and warm tone.
- Act as a brand ambassador, filtering all decisions and actions through Thumpers’ brand ethos and ensuring consistency in customer experience.
**4. Salon Operations**
- Oversee the daily operations of the salon, ensuring all systems, tools, and technologies (e.g., security systems, equipment) are functioning properly and arranging repairs when necessary.
- Ensure the salon environment is maintained at the highest standard (e.g., waiting area, front desk, coffee station, salon floor) with supplies clean, organized, and in working order.
- Take charge of front desk duties, including completing the opening and closing checklist and ensuring the team follows the front desk manual procedures.
**5. Financial Responsibilities**
- Monitor and manage the salon’s cash flow, ensuring bank deposits are made promptly when cash exceeds $500.
- Be responsible for managing the till, reconciling payments, and handling petty cash with precision and accountability.
- Maintain a commitment to protecting the bottom line by managing resources effectively and minimizing waste.
**6. Leadership & Team Development**
- Lead the front desk and support team members, mentoring new hires and guiding them through the onboarding process.
- Assist in the design and implementation of an onboarding program for all new employees, ensuring they align with the salon’s values and procedures.
- Act as a role model in completing duties efficiently and effectively, while supporting the stylists and ensuring the entire team thrives.
**7. Client Relations & Customer Service**
- Be the go-to person for all client-related matters, both happy and unsatisfied, ensuring a top-notch customer experience from start to finish.
- Address any client complaints professionally and swiftly, aligning responses with Thumpers’ brand of exceptional service.
- Foster a welcoming environment that makes every client feel valued, ensuring their experience at Thumpers is positive and memorable.
- **Hours & Compensation**
This is a **full-time** position. The working hours are as follows:
- **Tuesday**: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- **Wednesday**: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- **Thursday**: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- **Friday**: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- **Saturday**: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
**Two weeks of vacation** and **three paid sick days** are included with this position. **Any changes to the schedule, including small adjustments, must be cleared with management** in advance.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- **Proven Experience**: 3+ years in a management, customer service, or operations role, preferably within the beauty or salon industry.
- **Leadership & Team Building**: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and motivate a team.
- **Detail-Oriented & Organized**: Exceptional attention to detail in managing inventory, financial reconciliations, and salon operations.
- **Event Management**: Experience in planning, executing, and improving events or promotional activities.
- **Tech-Savvy**: Proficient with salon software (e.g., STX), inventory management systems, and basic IT troubleshooting.
- **Customer-Centric**: A passion for customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions.
- **Brand Advocate**: Must embody and promote Thumpers’ values in every action and decision.
