_The Butchart Gardens is looking for individuals to fill the following position:_

**DEPARTMENT**:VISITOR SERVICES - CUSTODIAL

**POSITION**:CUSTODIAN

The Butchart Gardens is looking for two individuals to join our Custodial team. The Custodial department is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of washrooms and general buildings including vacuuming, mopping, washing, and garbage/recycling pickup. This department regularly interacts with the public and are often relied upon to answer general inquiries.
- clean and sanitize washrooms including toilets, sinks, and other washroom fixtures
- clean staff and visitor areas in various buildings and restaurants
- collect, and dispose of garbage and recycling
- appropriately sort recycling materials
- vacuum, scrub, and mop floors
- maintain and replenish stock in washrooms
- work efficiently while unsupervised
- respond to visitor inquiries by providing information about The Gardens
- report issues such as damaged or broken equipment to their supervisors
- assist with other jobs as required from time to time
- ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- An excellent, demonstrated understanding of how to provide exceptional visitor service
- good organization skills and attention to detail
- physically capability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting and reaching
- a valid driver’s license is an asset

This is seasonal position from June through October, then returning in December for our Christmas Season. This position requires evening and shift work, plus occasional overtime. Wage starting from $22.50 an hour.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Every Weekend
- Holidays

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brentwood Bay, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
