Sunday and Monday Front End Cashier/customer Service Part Time

Creatures Pet Store is a locally-owned family run business. Job Details: The focus of this position will be the daily greeting of our customers and completing cash register transactions. Completing front end assigned tasks. Assisting customers with dog, cat, bird and small animal products. At the end of shifts be able to cash out and balance register and reliably close up the store following close down procedures. (Keyholder duties) - Running POS system for store in following areas: Greeting and assisting customers in sales transactions - Receiving stock deliveries - The ability to work on your feet daily and lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly is necessary. - Quickly learn working knowledge of products that we carry to assist customers. Especially in areas of: Dog - food, leashes, shampoo, hair brushes etc. Cat - food, litter, accessories Small Pocket Pets - food & bedding and Bettas - Answering and assisting customers that call in - You must be able to work quickly and efficiently, on your own, through a checklist of daily duties. - Handling of customers purchases which may consist of reptiles, fish, rodents, insects, worms and other animals - You will also perform routine housekeeping tasks, stock shelves, maintain inventory, clean the store, and help where needed - Day to day care of any animals available in the your department (birds, small animals) - Able to work in a fast paced environment, with a calm and friendly attitude. Qualifications: This individual will be a team player who enjoys working with and educating the public in a friendly and professional manner. Strong interpersonal skills while handling all aspects of customer service and the ability to accept direction and work as part of a team. Preference could be given to individuals with the following cashier/front end experiences: - One or more years of experience in the pet retail trade or product knowledge is preferred. - Keyholder - Experience with POS System, accurate and quick. - Able to process all types of credit card, gift card and cash transactions. - Have stock receiving experience. - Ability to understand instructions from other team members or management to carry out and complete tasks. - Able to manage time while ensuring the quality of your work. - Maintain excellent customer service in sometimes demanding work environments able to remain calm under pressure. - Communicate effectively in a polite and professional tone.
