**Service Coordinator**
Fulltime | 40 hours weekly | Salary range $33.77 - $35.84
Marjorie’s Place (MAR) is an open detention / open custody facility that provides services and programming to females between the ages of 12-18, who have recently come into conflict with the law. MAR offers a residential environment where residents can explore behavioural patterns, decision-making skills, foster important life skills and develop pro-social attitudes as it relates to themselves and others in the community. As an all-female residence, this gender-responsive program provides the framework and foundation for residents to develop the skills necessary to reintegrate from an institutional setting to the community in positive and sustainable ways.
The Residential Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing the EFRY Hope and Help for Women program philosophies and policies. Reporting directly to the Assistant Manager, the individual will be part of the Marjorie’s Place team and will assist in the development of the program and supervision of the staff team. The Residential Coordinator is scheduled to work various hours, which includes working on a rotating shift schedule - consisting of two different shifts (7:00 AM-3:00 PM | 3:00 PM-11:00 PM). Participation in 24/7 on call rotation is also required.
**Areas of Responsibility**:
- Builds positive, respectful, and non-judgmental relationships with youth and their support systems
- Provides written documentation as it pertains to legal, case managerial, client progression and residential recording, including investigation of unusual occurrences and complaints in order to make recommendations to improve service delivery
- Coordinates and supports virtual court proceedings, liaise with judicial partners to ensure receipt of proper documentation
- Coordinates client transportation to appointments, in person court appearances and home region upon discharge
- Completes level of detention assessments and supports client admission process
- Meet with staff on a regular basis to discuss collaboratively all procedures, programs, community resources, and case management strategies
- Engage in regular supervision with program staff formally or as required to discuss skill development, goal planning and the provision of annual performance reviews
- In conjunction with the Manager of Programs and Human Resources, oversees the recruitment and employee relations matters for staff, students, and/or volunteers
- Compile and distribute statistics as assigned and required
- Provides on-going support for program development, enhancements, and modifications
- Supports the Assistant Manager in the direct and indirect supervision and evaluation of the students, volunteers and/or front-line staff
- Coordinates and monitors training and orientation of new and existing staff
- Ensures that front-line staff adhere to policies and procedures

- oppressive, strength-based, gender-responsive and trauma-informed practices
- Liaises and works collaboratively with external partners and stakeholders in order to coordinate information and services
- Participates and assists in internal reviews, audits, and inspections of Residential & Reintegration programs
- Handles crises in accordance with relevant legislation and specified policies and procedures
- Ensures residential services comply with all relevant legislation, professional standards, funding contracts, and health and safety standards
- Performs the role of on-call support person on a rotational basis in order to provide support and direction to staff on shift
- Keeps abreast of trends, community resources and developments by participating in workshops, conferences, and continued professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Manager or designate
- A degree and/or diploma from a University or College in a related field with experience working with vulnerable populations; prior experience working with female at-risk youth is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of residential programs and services; knowledge of applicable legislation and policies is preferred (i.e. Youth Criminal Justice Act, Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
