Association for Community Living is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that they can live full, productive and meaningful lives. Providing quality Person Centered support through our residential, individualized and community based supports so that people can reach their greatest potential.
Shift-Staffed homes provide individuals with a home and supports on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis. Individual’s receive staff support to take care of their home, maintain their health and safety, improve ability to communicate, stay in touch with family and friends and engage in and contribute positively to their community.

We are looking for a competent, reliable support staff to provide respectful, quality supports within the home setting and out in the community.
Direct Support Professionals are expected to perform the following duties;
Home support duties (including, but not limited to personal care, bathing, bathroom support, meal preparation, medication administration and light housekeeping)
Community outings (including, but not limited to volunteering, paid employment and leisure activities)
Ability to facilitate opportunities for development of personal relationships.
Maintaining records of daily activities logs and goal progression (including, but not limited to following grocery/cleaning budgets etc
Keeping well maintained financial and medical records for the individuals we support
To keep an honest line of communication open with staff and management.

**Requirements**:

- **MUST** have a valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Level C CPR first aid certificate, or be willing to obtain immediately
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be well organized *Clear criminal record and Adult Abuse Registry check.
- Must be able to work **all** shifts including every second weekend.

**Assets**
- Ability to maneuver a wheel chair and or lifts.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training
- Prior working knowledge in the health care field would be considered an asset.
- As well as being familiar with the Vulnerable Persons Act.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Prior working knowledge of lifts, transfers and or hoyers would be an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 12-20 per week
