Comet welding is a CWB certified welding and custom fabrication shop located in Lacombe, AB

We work with clients in numerous industries to provide engineered and certified components specific to each clients needs. The quality of our products and commitment to our customers has been Comet Welding’s priority since 1982.

Comet Welding is currently looking to enhance our team with the following position:
**Draftsperson**

Overview:
To provide drafting support for the design and delivery of custom fabricated solutions. The initial role will focus on aspects related to the systems being designed and produced.
- Structural and Sheet Metal Drafting Experience
- Proficient using Solidwork's
- Ability to draft from new or existing structures
- Preparation of drawings for customer/engineering review
- Liaise between suppliers and customers to achieve expected solutions and quality
- Provide assembly and detail drawings for in-house fabrication and assembly activities
- Create and update ERP Routing and Bill of Materials
- Preparation of photo view drawings for proposals and/or customer reviews
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
- Answer questions concerning drawings and project details
- Accurate and timely delivery of designs
- Communicate and cooperate with all internal and external resources
- Organize and file documents
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position is paid by an hourly wage. The starting wage will be negotiated based on experience. The Position weekly hours maybe negotiated.

The position will be based at our office.
