Requisition ID: 157584 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **Purpose** The Bank’s Internal Audit Department plays a key role in the risk management processes of the Bank. Its mandate is to provide independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the Bank’s internal controls and to provide advisory services to improve the Bank’s operations. The Global Banking Markets (GBM) audit team is responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls relating to capital markets trading and risk management activities in Toronto and international locations. **Key Accountabilities** - As a Manager within Scotiabank’s Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Audit team, you will support the team in providing audit coverage for the Bank’s Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) implementation - Provide analysis, assistance and opine to ensure that strategic build-out of the overall Market Risk platform toward FRTB compliance is complete and robust - Assist with the audit testing to ensure regulatory compliance of the FRTB requirements through the review of the self-assessment, design and operating effectiveness of the internal controls implemented - Reviewing the documentation and controls around the system enhancements, business processes, operational controls, and data flows within the market risk technology platform, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the FRTB standards - Assisting the audit team with the review of the FRTB project milestones through the review of the detailed business specifications for the market risk systems - with the goal of proficiently reaching the FRTB standards. - Review User Acceptance Testing, ensuring the appropriate validation has occurred from Quantitative Risk Analytics and/or Model Risk **Functional Competencies** Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven record of creativity and innovation - Strong curiosity with appropriate professional skepticism Technical Skills - 2+ years of BA or risk management experience in Capital Markets, in the areas of either Market Risk or Counterparty Credit Risk - Knowledge of Capital Markets, various business lines, the current market risk capital regime and the FRTB requirements - Solid knowledge of derivative pricing, market risk/ counterparty credit risk methodologies, systems and processes, and relevant regulatory requirements - Previous exposure to risk/trading/valuation; Strong quantitative and communication skills - Strong computing skills, experienced with R, python, Excel Visual Basic, etc. **Educational Requirements** - Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as data science, financial engineering, economics, mathematics, Finance, statistics, physics, engineering, and computer science or information technology. - Designation in FRM and/or CFA would be an asset, however not required. auditjobs Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
