**Position Description**:
The **Research Ethics Analyst** for the Research Ethics Board (REB) is a key administrative position within the research structure of the Research Ethics Office of The Hospital for Sick Children. The position has both scientific and ethics review functions as well as a liaison function. The Research Ethics Analyst will conduct a critical evaluation of **retrospective** (or secondary use) research studies based on risk criteria. The Analyst is responsible for the coordination and management of all aspects of retrospective research (mínimal risk studies) submitted for ethical review. The analyst also manages the study renewal process. The Analyst must be familiar with experimental design and methodology as it applies to research and be familiar with the most recent ethical standards as captured in the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2). This includes standards related to consent, privacy, confidentiality, and security of identifiable information. They must be able to communicate and liaise effectively with the REB Chair, investigators, research coordinators and administrative staff throughout SickKids. The Analyst must have superior organizational and time management skills, in order to effectively manage a busy workload. The Analyst must be able to work independently but under the supervision of the Manager of the Research Ethics and Regulatory Compliance Office.

- Attending REB meetings; and acting as a Research Ethics Liaison

**Here's What You Will Need**:
**Essential Requirements**
- Bachelor level education in a health-related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience related to clinical trials
- Minimum 1 years' experience in clinical research setting OR minimum 6 months ethics experience.
- Strong knowledge of most recent Tri-Council Policy and Ethical Conduct for Research involving Human Subjects
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing timelines
- Computer proficiency (including Office 365)
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent judgment
- Ability to use tact and discretion
- Ability to manage change
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be resourceful
- Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

**Assets**
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines
- Previous REB and/or privacy experience
