This position reports to the TECH 3 lab supervisor.

**Job Title**: Tissue Culture Technician - Level 2

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare tools, media, reagents, and equipment for tissue culture with precision and efficiency.
- Independently perform advanced tissue culture tasks, including sub-culturing and maintaining sterile cultures.
- Execute all processes with exceptional aseptic technique under a laminar flow hood.
- Maintain and multiply stock cultures and other tissue cultures in strict adherence to SOPs.
- Analyze and refine tissue culture protocols to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Ensure accurate scientific record keeping and utilize internal systems for tracking and reporting.
- Work collaboratively within a team or independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and ensure consistent precision in handling delicate tissue cultures.
- Monitor and organize laboratory supplies and inventory, ensuring seamless operations.
- Properly handle and store chemicals and reagents according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and WHMIS guidelines.
- Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility in the facility, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment and infrastructure regularly.
- Contribute to safety and compliance by adhering to all company policies, WHMIS, and Lab Safety Training guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Pay: $42,000.00-$54,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- tissue culture or plant micropropagation: 2 years (preferred)
- Tissue culture or laminar flow hood: 2 years (preferred)
