- We are currently seeking an Automation Specialist for our Research and Innovation team located in Saint-Hyacinthe. The Automation Specialist will play a key role in the conception and execution of projects aiming at simplifying/optimizing the processes in the embryo and semen production laboratories using automation and robotics technologies.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Design the components (mechanical, electrical, electronics) required for each project with CAD software.
- Build various parts for the various projects, either in house (using 3D printers) or work with external companies (high end 3D printing, CNC machining, etc.).
- Program the micro-controllers.
- Assemble various mechanical and electrical/electronic components into usable prototype.
- Test the prototypes in the laboratory and make any required adjustments.
- Identify optimal components to use for each project based on the required function, cost, lead time, compatibility with existing parts/systems.
- Survey new technologies that could potentially be used in future projects.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**:

- DEP in electro-mechanics or related programs with relevant experience or DEC in electro-mechanics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, or related programs
- Creativity and organizational skills
- Autonomy (self-starter, capacity to work under mínimal supervision)
- Analytical mind and high capacity to solve problems
- Experience in mechanical; electrical and electronics prototyping/assembly
- Experience in 3D design (CAD) and with 3D printing
- Knowledge of programming (Arduino, C++; PLC)
