IMAX® Victoria delivers educational and entertaining experiences that accompany the learning journey the museum offers. The Royal BC Museum is located on the territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples, known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. The Research and Collections, History department of the Royal BC Museum provides for the acquisition, documentation, preventative conservation, preparation, and management of the human history collections. The department plays a central role in preparations for packing and moving the Royal BC Museum collections to a new Collections and Research Building in 2026. Staff plan, execute and track progress, and evaluate collection management of the collections in consultation with respective Curators, Collection Managers and Researchers, Sr. Lead, Prep Pack and Move, and Director of Research and Collections, History towards prep, pack and move goals. Staff support educational and research access to the collections, information and curatorial expertise as required. The Curator, History is responsible for the following functions: collect, preserve, and make available objects, specimens and artifacts documenting the human and natural history of the province that meet the criteria of the Collections Strategy; work with staff across departments to follow best practices and make informed decisions regarding acquisitions, care and handling, storage and access to the holdings; and conduct original and general research on the collections and areas of their individual specialties in order to interpret and disseminate knowledge about the collections and about their discipline or specialty in relation to the collections. **An eligibility list may be established for similar future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.** **How to Apply**: **Additional Information**: This position requires a Criminal Records Check under the BC Public Service Screening Policy and the Criminal Records Review Act.
