The role is a leadership position to be externally facing to enhance our reputation with key clients with a focus on the transit business and support of wider specific opportunities throughout Canada. - As the Transit practice leader, the role will focus on:

- Proactive identification and engagement with core clients for our growing business;
- Research and opinion on emerging opportunities (as a lead, and/or in partnership with other firms);
- Pursuit and project delivery;
- Staff development and mentorship;
- Enthusiastic client and stakeholder engagement and cross-cutting collaboration;
- Drive client engagement and uncovering new opportunities with emerging clients
- Represent Mott MacDonald positively in an external facing role with clients, partners and at conferences etc.
- Provide support and leadership to business development and strategic initiatives;
- Contribute to an innovative, challenging, collaborative and high performing work environment, which supports and fosters the Mott MacDonald values and culture where results are driven by a total team effort;
- Exemplify Mott MacDonald’s values of Progress, Respect, Integrity, Drive and Excellence;
- Serve as a key owner of client and partner engagement, focusing primarily on (but not limited to) the Western Canada market;
- Be an active participant in discussions that seek to maximize the business opportunities for Mott MacDonald in British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada;
- Leverage your skill, judgement and experience in the delivery of a wide variety of projects;
- Serve as Project Manager as appropriate on projects;
- Serve as Project / Technical Reviewer on projects as required;
- Be available for project support across Canada and North America. Strengthen existing, and create new customer and partner relationships;
- Serve as the Account Leader for a number of specific clients that offer Mott MacDonald the best opportunities for sustained business;
- Develop strategy for building relationships with key clients;
- A minimum of 12 years' relevant experience within an engineering consultancy
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering
- Registered professional engineer
- Self-directed nature, with ability to work well / seamlessly with a larger team, including outside experts and stakeholder groups
- Experience working with other professionals including planners, engineers, and managers, toward the successful delivery of projects
- Familiarity with transportation and infrastructure industry standards, practices, and regulations
- Demonstrated innovation and creative thinking
- Ability to network within a large organization to bring the best solutions to our clients from around the world.
- Management experience of both projects and teams, for the total delivery of projects from their inception to completion and operation
