Serving the Saanich Peninsula located just north of Victoria, BC, the district has one of the highest graduation rates in the province and a student body that consistently scores well on annual assessment tests, thanks in large part to the dedication and efforts of our 900 teaching and support staff.

**Current Shift**: This is a casual position working as an Indigenous Education Assistant when necessary, up to 30 hours per week.

Monday to Friday,10 months per year while regular classes are in session.

**Pay Rate**: $23.15

**Qualifications and Job Description**:
This position is an on-call position that provides direct support to the Indigenous students and their teachers at various schools throughout the District when a replacement is needed for one of the school based Indigenous Education Assistants

The applicant will act as a positive role model for Indigenous students

Applicants must have demonstrated ability to provide instructional support in a school setting with a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the school and students

Applicants must have demonstrated strong, positive interpersonal skills with students, staff, and the community.

Applicants must be willing and able to step in with short notice as this is an on-call position that requires you to cover another employee’s absence

Minimum secondary school graduation, direct or related experience with a preference given to applicants with post-secondary training and experience related to supporting school-aged children/youth
