**Position Overview**:
Under the guidance of the Manager, Training and Development this position will consult and collaborate with internal customers to design and deliver effective learning programs as required. With a focus on Aircraft Technical, and Occupational Health and Safety topics, in this role you will design, coordinate, deliver and evaluate training for a diverse customer base over multiple locations, following established processes.
The Technical Training Officer will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location at the Halifax International Airport.
**What You Will Do**:
- Consult with internal departments to determine training requirements
- Conduct thorough needs analysis in consultation with internal customers
- Work collaboratively with the training team and internal customers to design and/or source solutions
- Develop training programs to meet established objectives
- Write, edit and produce materials for technical instruction
- Coordinate and/or deliver training sessions using a variety of delivery techniques, including, classroom, Web based, Webinar etc.
- Drive and lead projects through the full training lifecycle
- Maintain records and generate reports within SABA Learning Management System
- Assist the team in documenting work instructions, and Standard Plant Procedures
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
**What You Will Bring**:
- Extensive technical knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance operations, and applicable regulations is required
- Demonstrated competency in the Mechanical or Avionics trades including aircraft and maintenance records
- Type Course Endorsement on CP140 or CH149 aircraft, considered a strong asset
- Certificate in Adult Education or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Experience in technical training delivery in an Aerospace/Aviation organization is preferred
- Above average communication and facilitation skills
- Customer Service attitude combined with excellent people skills
- Understanding of full training lifecycle, adult learning principles and other generally accepted training standards
- Experience in a variety of training delivery techniques, eg, online, classroom, OJT is preferred
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Experience with Captivate/Storyline, SABA LMS is considered an asset
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation

- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
