The City of Côte Saint-Luc is seeking dynamic employees to join its workforce. The City prides itself on providing the highest level of service to its residents. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Library Technician who wants to work at the Reference Desk to make a difference and improve the quality of services in Côte Saint-Luc.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Answer reference and consultation questions from readers at the reference desk.
- Assisting patrons in locating library materials
- Conducting bibliographic research
- Assist patrons in using their devices and answer technology questions regarding the library's digital collection.
- Support patrons using the MediaLab public computers by assisting them as needed.
- Assist in the creation of bibliographies, handouts, and displays.
- Supervise staff as needed.
- Assist librarians in maintaining collections of books, periodicals, newspapers, audiovisual materials, and other materials, including shelf reading.
- Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the library
- Provide basic troubleshooting and assistance with library equipment, including microform readers/printers, copiers, laptops, tablets, and e-readers.
- Process and track the loan and borrowing of materials, books, etc. with other organizations

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in Library and Information Science or currently a student in the program or a DEC in Information and Library Technology.
- Basic knowledge of information services technology, including the ability to use
- Internet and standard electronic reference resources.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Excellent oral communication skills in English and French
- Interest in reference and reader advisory services and/or technology/digital learning

**Schedule**:

- This is a white collar position. Hours are 21 hours per week with the possibility of more.
- Thursdays from 2:00-10:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.6:00 p.m.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: $28.12 per hour
