The Director of Human Resources will work directly with Senior Leadership to define, build, maintain, and fully integrate Human Resource processes throughout Convergence Networks, including compensation and benefit programs, leadership training, and ownership of human capital related processes.

WHAT DOES OUR DIRECTOR OF HR DO?

Corporate Leadership
- Provide HR leadership for a growing Information Technology company located in the US and Canada.
- Develop, lead, and implement people/HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Lead integration efforts from a people and culture perspective.
- Act as a trusted advisor regarding HR policies, regulations, and interpretation.
- Provide timely and proactive communications on significant developments throughout the organization.

Recruit, Manage and Retain Top Talent
- Identify skills gap and overall strategy of recruiting, and employee selection for both technical and administrative roles.
- Oversee and direct employee benefits and compensation, including 401k administration.
- Collaborate with managers and departments to assist the overall business needs from an HR and people perspective, including employee concerns, complaints and internal investigations.
- Ensure timely performance reviews and stay interviews.
- Implement consistent employee training plans across all roles
- Provide comprehensive leadership training to lower and mid-level management
- Work with Team Leaders to ensure all staff, including Team Leaders, have received adequate training before they start providing service to customers (external and internal).
- Work closely with leadership to develop and implement HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Be a cultural advocate, ensuring relationships are solid with all staff.
- Work with the leadership team to minimize employee turnover.

Manage HR Department
- Manage HR, payroll, and Training team members and have overall accountability for the department.
- Drive continuous process improvement across the HR functions.

Compliance
- Adherence to DOL, BOLI and FLSA guidelines for US employees.
- Adherence to Provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Occupational Health and Safety Acts for Canadian employees.
- Handle all workplace injury claims and process with our workers compensation carrier.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL DIRECTOR OF HR?
- Advanced knowledge of the HR process, activities, and employee services.
- Experience with COBRA, FLSA, OFLA/FMLA, DOL, and others
- Experience in the United States and Canada's employment landscape and regulatory compliance
- Experience with administering and managing benefits and retirement plan administration.
- Effective interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to mirror your communication style to your audience.
- Experience with employee relations, including coaching, developing, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ability to have tough conversations in a positive manner.
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
- Understanding of payroll process and employment tax laws.
- Be able to maintain complete confidentiality when required to do so.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATION I NEED TO HAVE?
- 10 years’ HR experience in a generalist environment. 6+ in a leadership capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field
- Relevant HR certifications, such as PHR, or SHRM-CP ,.CHRP, CHRL, CHRE, or CPHR
- Functional understanding of financial statements and impacts/drivers of finances.
