As a Financial and Regulatory Strategist, you will provide financial and regulatory expertise for corporate and budget office projects and initiatives. This will require you to build relationships and work collaboratively with other areas of the Corporation as well as solicit and provide information to various internal and external partners. As part of the Finance business unit, you will support these projects and initiatives. Primary duties include:

- Lead and support corporate budget guidelines & monitoring for the areas of Fuel, Energy, Position Budgeting, and others as they arise.
- Support the organization's commodity hedging and contingency management.
- Lead and support strategic financial initiatives for the Corporate Budget Office such as new budget cycles, annual budget adjustments, process review and refinement.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports for senior management and Council to support corporate financial plans, policies, and investment decisions.
- Lead and support the review, development, and implementation Council and Administrative policies and processes.

**Qualifications**
- A degree in Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related degree
- A relevant designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and at least 5 years related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A relevant graduate degree such as Master in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Economics will be considered an asset.
- Experience in statistical budgeting and/or position-based budgeting will be considered an asset.
- An understanding of operating and capital budgets, funding, financial systems, regulatory processes and policy review and development.
- Experience in working with diverse data sets with great attention to detail while pursuing Corporate strategic objectives.
- Ability to work within a team but also independently and fully own all aspects of assigned tasks and projects.
- Ability to grasp highly complex ideas and issues as well as maintain a strong understanding of strategic decision making.
- Strong communication skills, political acumen, interpersonal and problem-solving skills is essential for this role.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
- work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
